A living world
Continents, territories and soils are generated. The weather changes every month, rivers burst their banks, and forests, fruit, nuts and game grow or disappear.
After a long journey, your tribe finds a fertile valley. From now on, you are the government. Build an economy in a world with its own weather, nature and markets, and with inhabitants who make their own choices.
Behind every turn, the game simulates an entire planet. What you decide ends up in that world, and not always the way you expected.
Continents, territories and soils are generated. The weather changes every month, rivers burst their banks, and forests, fruit, nuts and game grow or disappear.
Wholesale and retail, real estate, rent, loans and currencies. Prices come from supply and demand. Workshops, small businesses and companies start, grow and go bankrupt.
Your population ages, has children, works, buys, rents, borrows and starts businesses. You can steer them with policy, but you can't command them.
You start with one state and a few hundred inhabitants. From there you build a country, with decisions whose effects you see in the turns that follow.
"Information reaches you through whoever brings it. Do you trust your advisers, or do you question their motives?"
What you see is what your advisers tell you. Not everything is complete, and not everyone is neutral.
You play Meridian Crowns at your own pace. One turn a day is one month in the game. You don't need to be online all the time: you look at what happened, make your decisions, and the world carries on.
Every twelve turns a year has passed: then the annual contracts, the harvest and the figures of the year are settled.
The game is free, with one country. If you want to support the game, you can later take a subscription for more countries and more insight, such as charts and a full history.
A subscription never gives an advantage in the world itself. You can't buy resources, money or power.
Meridian Crowns is still in active development. Things may be missing or change, and sometimes a world has to start over. If you play now, you help shape the game.
